Marie Gleason of Bettendorf is running for Iowa Senate in District 47. Gleason is a 20 year employee of Deere & Company. She is a Project Manager in the Human Resource area and previously had roles of progressive responsibility in the Sales & Marketing area, including Senior Pricing Analyst and District Manager. A highlight of her career with Deere is receiving the U.S. Department of Transportation 9/11 Ribbon for assistance given in the wake of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
Additionally, Gleason is currently on the Board of Directors for Dress for Success Quad Cities, a non-profit organization making a distinct difference in the lives of women who are job ready and working toward economic independence and career advancement.
Prior to joining Deere, Ms. Gleason’s background includes not only business and management experience but also governmental experience as a Parliamentary Assistant with a Member of the European Parliament, Germany and an internship with a Congressional Representative in Washington, DC. As well, Ms. Gleason is a past member of the board of the Sexual Assault Crisis Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, and has volunteered with / contributes to Habitat for Humanity, the Red Cross, the Carter Center, the Humane Society, and the Loeys-Dietz Syndrome Foundation.
Gleason earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University – Bloomington. She also has a certificate in European Studies from Tilburg University in the Netherlands, and received her MA in Organizational Management from Tusculum College in Tennessee.
